Advantech has unveiled its latest high-performance edge AI compute solutions—AOM-6731, AIMB-293, and SOM-6820—powered by the Snapdragon® X Elite platform. These cutting-edge products are designed to meet the demanding needs of modern industrial applications, delivering exceptional processing power, up to 45 TOPS of AI acceleration, and robust 5G and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity within industrial-grade PCs.
Featuring the Snapdragon X Elite 12-core and Snapdragon® X Plus 10-core processors with Qualcomm Oryon™ CPUs running at speeds up to 3.4GHz, these solutions enable rapid data handling, seamless multitasking, and outperform traditional x86 solutions while consuming 28% less power on average for everyday tasks such as Microsoft Teams video calls, video playback, web browsing, and Microsoft 365 applications. Integrated Qualcomm® Hexagon™ NPUs deliver up to 45 TOPS for advanced AI workloads.
Equipped with LPDDR5X memory, the systems offer a 1.3× speed boost (from 6400MT/s to 8533MT/s) while reducing power consumption by 20% compared to standard LPDDR5. The inclusion of UFS 3.1 Gear 4 storage increases data transfer speeds dramatically—from 1,000Mbps (PCIe Gen3 NVMe) to an impressive 16,000Mbps—with optional UFS 4.0 for maximum durability and shock resistance in harsh industrial environments.
For multimedia-intensive applications, the integrated Snapdragon Adreno 5th Generation VPU supports 4K60p full-duplex H.264 video encoding/decoding, while the Adreno GPU—supporting OpenCL, OpenGL, and Microsoft DirectX 12—delivers exceptional graphics performance for vision-based industrial tasks.
Connectivity is a key highlight, with built-in Wi-Fi 7 and 5G ensuring ultra-fast, low-latency networking for uninterrupted data streaming and real-time communication in demanding environments. Wi-Fi 7 provides multi-gigabit speeds and enhanced reliability, while 5G offers expansive coverage and high-speed capabilities, making these solutions ideal for data-intensive AI applications and remote operations. This combination enables agile, future-ready infrastructure for optimized real-time processing and connectivity.
The AI module AOM-6731, the Mini-ITX motherboard AIMB-293, and the COM Express Type 6 module SOM-6820 will be available for engineering evaluations starting in March 2025. For detailed specifications, visit the Advantech website.
