Apono Secures $34M Series B to Transform Privileged Access for the Agentic AI Era

Apono, the cloud identity-security company pioneering Zero Standing Privilege (ZSP) access management, has raised $34 million in a Series B round led by U.S. Venture Partners (USVP), with participation from Swisscom Ventures, Vertex Ventures, 33N Ventures, and existing backers. This funding brings Apono’s total capital raised to more than $54 million. Over the last year, the company achieved strong product-market fit, marked by a fourfold increase in its customer base.

Apono’s platform addresses the growing challenge of cloud permission sprawl by eliminating standing privileges — one of the most persistent vulnerabilities in identity and access management (IAM). Built on Just-in-Time (JIT) and Just-Enough-Access (JEA) principles, Apono dynamically grants and revokes permissions based on real-time context and business logic, helping teams stay agile without sacrificing security.

The company is preparing for a future where human and AI identities operate side-by-side. As agentic systems become more widespread, managing their access requires automation, contextual awareness, and scalability that traditional IAM tools can’t deliver. Apono’s dynamic permissioning engine responds to this need by validating every access request in real time, ensuring strong security while maintaining workflow efficiency for developers and operations teams.

“The large-scale adoption of AI agents exponentially scales the problem of getting access right,” said Rom Carmel, Co-founder and CEO of Apono. “Achieving ZSP with a dynamic access management approach is the only sustainable way to secure agentic operations at scale.”

Customers such as Intel, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Monday.com use Apono to secure access across hybrid and multi-cloud environments while ensuring compliance and enhancing incident response capabilities.

As part of the Series B round, Jacques Benkoski, General Partner at USVP, will join Apono’s board. With extensive experience scaling enterprise cybersecurity companies — including Trusteer, Medigate, and Kenna Security — Jacques will collaborate with Rom Carmel, Ofir Stein, and the Apono leadership team to accelerate the company’s position in the fast-emerging field of agentic identity security.

“Apono is leading the next evolution of identity security — one that extends zero trust to identity access, following the advancements we’ve seen in zero-trust network security,” said Jacques Benkoski. “The company’s dynamic, context-aware approach is exactly what enterprises need to secure both human and machine identities in an AI-driven world.”

The new capital will support the expansion of AI-powered access intelligence and policy automation, growth of go-to-market initiatives in the U.S. and international regions, and scaling of Apono’s engineering and sales teams to meet increasing enterprise demand.

Apono will showcase its dynamic access platform at AWS re:Invent, taking place December 1–5, 2025, in Las Vegas, where attendees can experience live demonstrations built for the agentic AI era.
