Cohesity Expands Collaboration with Red Hat Across Cohesity DataProtect and NetBackup
Cohesity, the leader in AI-powered data security, has announced an expanded partnership with Red Hat, the global provider of open source solutions, to strengthen support for Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization through Cohesity Data Cloud. This integration allows customers to safeguard and manage data from virtual machines and containers within Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization environments using Cohesity DataProtect and NetBackup.
This enhancement simplifies backup and recovery operations, offering advanced protection and increased resilience against threats such as ransomware. Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization customers can now manage their virtual machine workloads alongside other data sources within the Cohesity Data Cloud ecosystem.
Unified Workload Protection at Scale
With this collaboration, users of Cohesity DataProtect and NetBackup gain broader coverage for their virtual environments. The enhanced support enables efficient backup and recovery of Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization-based VMs using the same cohesive workflows as traditional and containerized workloads, increasing operational simplicity and scale.
The Cohesity platform—built on Red Hat OpenShift and grounded in zero-trust architecture—offers robust features including data immutability, stringent access controls, and isolated clean room environments. This results in one of the most comprehensive platforms for data resilience and cyber attack mitigation available today.
Strengthening a Longstanding Collaboration
This initiative builds on an existing strategic alliance, including Cohesity’s adoption of Red Hat Enterprise Linux as the base operating system for its Data Cloud appliances. Both companies reaffirm their commitment to helping customers secure their data as they transition to modern, hybrid infrastructures powered by Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization.
