Highly Connected Digital Infrastructure Enhances PlatformDIGITAL® Footprint in Asia Pacific

Digital Realty (NYSE: DLR), the largest global provider of cloud- and carrier-neutral data center, colocation, and interconnection solutions, has announced a joint venture with Bersama Digital Infrastructure Asia (BDIA), a leading Southeast Asian digital infrastructure platform. The new entity, Digital Realty Bersama, will develop and operate data centers across Indonesia, extending PlatformDIGITAL® into the dynamic Indonesian market.

This move supports the rapid growth of Indonesia’s digital economy, driven by its young, tech-savvy population. The joint venture (JV) combines Digital Realty’s global expertise with BDIA’s regional presence to provide advanced, high-performance infrastructure for businesses in Indonesia.

Expanding Digital Infrastructure in Indonesia

As part of the agreement, Bersama Digital Data Centres (BDDC), BDIA’s Jakarta-based carrier-neutral data center platform, has been integrated into the JV and will now operate under the Digital Realty Bersama brand.

Key stakeholders in BDIA include Provident Capital Partners, Saratoga Investama Sedaya, a Macquarie Asset Management-led consortium, and Distro Hub. The management team of BDDC will continue leading Digital Realty Bersama, with Angelo Syailendra serving as CEO, Setyanto Hantoro as Chairman, and Krishna Worotikan, former Country CFO of Microsoft Indonesia, joining as CFO.

State-of-the-Art Data Centers in Jakarta

Digital Realty Bersama currently owns and operates a connected data center campus in Jakarta, which includes:

  • CGK11 – A newly launched, state-of-the-art data center in Central Jakarta, initially featuring 5MW of IT load capacity, with expansion potential up to 32MW.
  • CGK10 – Another facility located in West Jakarta.

CGK11 offers a robust connectivity hub within Jakarta’s central business district, providing direct access to APJII (Indonesia’s largest internet exchange provider) and a wide range of networks and services. Customers can also leverage ServiceFabric™, Digital Realty’s service orchestration platform, to manage hybrid IT infrastructure and AI workloads.

Industry Growth & Market Potential

According to Structure Research, the Jakarta colocation market is expected to generate $499 million USD in 2025, with a five-year CAGR of 11% and an anticipated data center uptake of approximately 54.6MW.

Digital Realty contributed approximately $100 million for a 50% stake in the JV, including ownership of the data centers and adjacent land for future expansion. Additionally, the company will receive property management and development fees as part of the partnership.
