Real-Time EHR Alerts Help Metroplex Medical Centres Save 20 Hours Weekly and Improve Patient Outcomes
Veradigm®, a leading provider of healthcare data and technology solutions, has been awarded the 2025 KLAS Points of Light Award in partnership with Metroplex Medical Centres and a major national healthcare payer. The recognition highlights their joint case study, “Optimizing Value-Based Care by Delivering Insights at the Point of Care,” which demonstrates how integrating real-time alerts into the EHR system helped reduce provider burnout, streamline care delivery, and improve patient outcomes.
Metroplex Medical Centres, based in Texas, previously relied on two staff members using seven disconnected systems to track and close quality care gaps—an approach that led to inefficiencies, delayed interventions, and increased provider burnout. Veradigm collaborated with the payer to embed four types of real-time risk and quality alerts directly into Metroplex’s EHR, enabling faster, more actionable decision-making at the point of care.
“Like many healthcare organizations around the country, we are always looking to collaborate with the most innovative companies to help us deliver quality care to our growing patient population amidst evolving industry standards,” said Sneha Patel, MPAS, PA-C, CEO of Metroplex Medical Centres. “Veradigm helped increase transparency into our gaps in care, all while helping us reduce administrative burnout and increase staff efficiency, creating a winning formula for everyone we serve.”
The integrated system led to a time savings of approximately 20 hours per week previously spent searching for care gap data. These efficiencies helped ease the shift toward value-based care and reduced unnecessary emergency department visits, ultimately leading to improved patient health and cost savings.
Megan Zakrewsky, Vice President of Product for Clinical Data Exchange Payer Solutions at Veradigm, stated, “To move value-based care forward, collaboration among payers and providers is critical. At Veradigm, we’re focused on creating dynamic solutions, including Veradigm Payer Insights, to share patient data across the key pillars of healthcare through trusted, integrated workflows.”
She added that through the Veradigm Network, the company is exploring innovations such as integrating social determinants of health and care transition alerts to further streamline workflows and support better outcomes with less administrative burden.
The KLAS Points of Light Award celebrates impactful collaborations between payers, providers, and technology vendors that lead to measurable improvements in healthcare delivery. Veradigm and the partnering payer presented their award-winning initiative at the KLAS K2 Collaboration Summit in Salt Lake City, showcasing how integrated payer insights can help level the playing field for independent providers.
