Kioxia Holdings Corporation, a global provider of memory solutions, has announced the appointment of Yoshihiko Kawamura as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective April 1, 2026. The leadership move comes as the company continues strengthening its financial strategy and positioning itself for long-term growth in the semiconductor industry.
Strengthening Financial Leadership
Kawamura brings decades of international leadership experience across finance, strategy, and risk management. Before taking on the CFO role, he served as Executive Vice President at Kioxia beginning in June 2025, where he worked closely with the executive team on capital strategy and financial planning initiatives.
His appointment reflects Kioxia’s focus on reinforcing its financial governance and operational efficiency as the company expands its global presence in the memory and storage technology market.
Extensive Global Experience
Prior to joining Kioxia, Kawamura held several senior leadership positions at Hitachi, Ltd., including Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Risk Management Officer. During his tenure, he played a significant role in advancing management reforms and strengthening the company’s corporate strategy.
Earlier in his career, Kawamura worked at Mitsubishi Corporation, where he held international assignments at the company’s U.S. headquarters and served as General Manager of its Chicago office. He also gained global policy and financial insight through a period of work with the World Bank. These experiences provide him with a broad perspective on global finance and corporate governance.
Supporting Kioxia’s Next Phase of Growth
Kioxia recently entered a new stage of development following its initial public offering on the Prime Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange in December 2024. As demand for advanced memory technologies continues to rise—driven by artificial intelligence, data centers, and high-performance computing—the company aims to expand its market presence while maintaining strong financial discipline.
Company leadership expressed confidence that Kawamura’s strategic expertise and global financial experience will support Kioxia’s long-term growth and strengthen its corporate value.
