Robo.ai and JW Group Launch RoBUS JV to Drive Green Smart Commercial Vehicles

Robo.ai Inc. (NASDAQ: AIIO) announced the formation of a commercial vehicle joint venture with Pakistan’s leading company JW Group to advance green mobility and smart city initiatives. The joint venture, named RoBUS, will be headquartered in the UAE. Robo.ai also appointed Mr. River Zhang as Chief Industrial Officer and President of RoBUS. Mr. Zhang, a former senior executive at NIO, Ford, and Volvo, has contributed to the launch of nearly 20 vehicle models and brings deep expertise in automotive production and intelligent manufacturing.

The creation of RoBUS marks a key milestone in Robo.ai’s strategic vision of “Middle East Headquarters + Collaborative Manufacturing + Global Market.” Building on prior plans for a commercial vehicle production base in South Asia, the JV will leverage JW Group’s manufacturing capabilities and international distribution network to deliver customized products for the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia, while complying with local regulations and customer needs.

Robo.ai will provide capital support, brand-building expertise, and market expansion facilitation. JW Group will contribute manufacturing capacity via its overseas facilities and extend market reach through its network of over 400 distributors.

  • RO1 Green Smart Luxury Coach Series: 6–12 meter new energy coaches for intercity, tourism, and commuter services, featuring full-load bearing structure, advanced frontal collision protection, and integrated digital technology to ensure safety, stability, and reliability.
  • RO2 Green Smart City Bus Series: 9–12 meter new energy buses designed for urban public transport, equipped with modern design and intelligent driver-assist systems to improve safety and efficiency.
  • RO3 Premium Business Vehicle Series: Executive and corporate travel vehicles combining safety, reliability, comfort, intelligence, and performance for a premium mobility experience.
