Expanding Presence in Taiwan to Advance Autonomous Systems
Shield AI, the deep-tech company developing cutting-edge autonomy software and aircraft, has opened a new office in the Taipei 101 tower during the Taipei Aerospace and Defense Technology Exhibition (TADTE) 2025.
The office launch coincided with Shield AI’s engagements with senior government, defense, and industry leaders, emphasizing the importance of partnerships in advancing autonomy and national defense initiatives.
“One of the lessons we learned from our work in Ukraine is that if you want to be a real partner, you need to be there,” said Brandon Tseng, Shield AI President, Co-Founder, and former Navy SEAL. “By establishing a permanent presence in Taipei, we can collaborate more closely with Taiwan — delivering mission autonomy and aircraft that enhance deterrence.”
Ribbon-Cutting and Event Highlights
On September 20, Shield AI held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new office, attended by representatives from government, industry, and academia. Earlier in the week, Tseng presented “The Modern Battlefield: Lessons from Ukraine and Why Autonomy Matters”, while Chief Technology Officer Nathan Michael delivered “Sovereign Autonomy: The Critical Enabler of Drone Armies” as part of TADTE programming.
Partnership with AIDC
The Taipei office launch follows a Teaming Agreement with Taiwan’s Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) to promote, deploy, sustain, train, and integrate Shield AI’s autonomy solutions in Taiwan. A senior AIDC representative joined Shield AI leadership at the ribbon-cutting, underscoring the strength of this collaboration.
