TM AI Cobot S Series earns IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 certification after an independent DEKRA assessment

Techman Robot has obtained IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 (SL2) cybersecurity certification for its TM AI Cobot S Series, following an independent assessment by DEKRA. The company announced the milestone on 6 October 2026 and says it is the world’s first built-in vision AI cobot manufacturer to earn the certification. That is the company’s own claim.

As Physical AI moves into production, robots are increasingly connected to equipment, manufacturing systems and data infrastructure. A connected, AI-enabled cobot can exchange information with cameras, production machinery, manufacturing execution systems, industrial networks and cloud or edge platforms. That raises new cybersecurity considerations for factories.

IEC 62443-4-2 sets security requirements for components used in industrial automation and control systems. The assessment covered areas such as authentication and access control, data and communication protection, system integrity and availability. For manufacturers, system integrators and end users, the result is an independently verified reference when evaluating the cybersecurity of connected collaborative robots.

Scott Huang, Chief Operating Officer of Techman Robot, said the certification reflects the company’s continued effort to bring intelligence, cybersecurity and practical manufacturing needs together in product development. Techman’s approach combines built-in vision, AI and robotic execution under what it calls SEE • THINK • ACT.

Techman says it is treating security as a product lifecycle matter rather than a one-time certificate. It is extending its work to vulnerability management, incident reporting and security-update mechanisms, and it continues to align these with the European Union’s Cyber Resilience Act.

Certification does not remove every risk, and a certified robot does not by itself secure an entire manufacturing environment.
