TandemAI and Perpetual Medicines Announce Strategic Merger to Advance Small Molecule and Peptide Therapeutics

TandemAI, a leader in AI-powered drug discovery, and Perpetual Medicines, a company pioneering computational design-synthesis platforms for peptide therapeutics, have announced a merger. The combined entity will operate under the TandemAI name and offer expanded solutions for both small molecule and peptide drug discovery.

The merger brings together TandemAI’s AI- and physics-based platform integrated with wet lab experimentation, and Perpetual Medicines’ advanced computational and synthesis capabilities. This strategic integration aims to accelerate the discovery of next-generation therapeutics and provide global partners with more efficient workflows.

Leadership and Structure

The combined company will be led by TandemAI co-founder and CEO, Jeff He, MBA. Perpetual Medicines will continue as a separate operating entity within TandemAI under the leadership of:

  • Kerry L. Blanchard, MD, PhD – Co-founder, Chairman & CEO of Perpetual Medicines
  • Ved Srivastava, PhD – Chief Scientific Officer

Strategic Vision

Proven Track Record

The Perpetual leadership team has been involved in the development of several peptide drugs in the U.S., including Byetta® (exenatide), Symlin® (pramlintide), and Bydureon® (exenatide extended release). Dr. Blanchard has contributed to more than 30 new medicine approvals in China, including global commercial successes such as Trulicity®.
