Yuma, a subsidiary of DCG focused on advancing decentralized intelligence via the Bittensor network, announced the appointments of Greg Schvey as Chief Operating Officer and Jeff Schvey as Chief Technology Officer. These leadership additions come as Yuma scales its validator, mining, and subnet accelerator operations and prepares to launch an asset management business.
“Greg and Jeff are proven leaders who bring a rare blend of institutional infrastructure experience and startup grit, combined with hands-on experience in Bittensor,” said Barry Silbert, Founder and CEO of Yuma and DCG. “Their leadership will be pivotal as Yuma powers the next era of decentralized AI.”
Greg and Jeff began their careers in investment banking and missile defense, respectively, and have over a decade of experience developing institutional-grade infrastructure in the crypto industry. Their website, The Genesis Block, was a leading voice in Bitcoin starting in 2012. In 2013, they co-founded TradeBlock, the first institutional crypto portfolio management and data services platform, later acquired by DCG. Their most recent venture, Axoni, built critical infrastructure for traditional financial markets, processing trillions in transactions annually, with their largest unit acquired by the London Stock Exchange Group in 2024.
Both have been active contributors to the Bittensor ecosystem, developing top-performing miners whose technology will now be integrated into Yuma’s operations.
“Bittensor reminds me of the early days of Bitcoin – a small, passionate group sprinting to build a profoundly innovative network with massive potential,” said Yuma COO Greg Schvey. “My goal is to empower this nascent ecosystem, and Yuma is the perfect platform to do that.”
Yuma CTO Jeff Schvey added, “For the first time, an open network allows people to compete to solve machine intelligence problems and get immediate rewards. Yuma is uniquely positioned to contribute across the network, especially as institutional-grade infrastructure demand grows.”
Since its November 2024 launch, Yuma has become a leading contributor to Bittensor through its subnet accelerator, validator operations, and mining team. In 2025, Yuma onboarded eight institutional validator partners, including BitGo, Copper, and Crypto.com, and supported the launch of eight subnets through its accelerator program.
The addition of the Schvey brothers strengthens Yuma’s leadership, reinforcing its long-term commitment to building institutional-grade infrastructure and shaping the future of decentralized intelligence.
